Uganda has taken a major step in the fight against malaria.  Starting this April, the malaria vaccine will be introduced for children aged 6 to 11 months.  The vaccine will require four doses to provide full protection.  It will be included as part of the routine immunization program, with the goal of ending malaria by 2030. This initiative comes in response to the fact that approximately 10 children die every day from malaria, and it aims to protect future generations from this deadly disease.

In a bid to strengthen women's participation in leadership and civic processes, the Uganda Women's Network (UWONET) have hosted a National Women Leaders’ Summit to navigate the progress of women in the civic space. The event held in Kampala, fostered dialogue on the progress made, challenges faced, and opportunities available for women leaders.  The national women leaders’ summit intended to promote inclusivity while among others advocating for policy reforms ensuring women's participation in executive boards.
