The Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) is set to mark a significant milestone in the country's healthcare sector with the opening of the Military Referral Hospital on April 30th, 2025. The hospital will be officially inaugurated by the President of Uganda, further underscoring its importance as a critical healthcare institution for both military personnel and the general public. UGANDA INTRODUCES MALARIA VACCINE, VACCINATION TO START IN APRIL

Uganda has taken a major step in the fight against malaria.  Starting this April, the malaria vaccine will be introduced for children aged 6 to 11 months.  The vaccine will require four doses to provide full protection.  It will be included as part of the routine immunization program, with the goal of ending malaria by 2030. This initiative comes in response to the fact that approximately 10 children die every day from malaria, and it aims to protect future generations from this deadly disease.
